What is Orlos, and what is it used for?
Orlos is a weight loss aid that contains the active ingredient orlistat. It is clinically proven to help adult patients with a BMI (body mass index) of 28 or above lose weight. The treatment is taken up to three times daily within one hour of each meal, and each tablet comes in a 60mg dose.
Does Orlos help with weight loss?
Orlos is clinically proven to help users lose 50% more weight than dieting alone. So for every 2kg you lose, Orlos can help you lose an additional 1kg.
Is Orlos an appetite suppressant?
It’s important to note that Orlos is not an appetite suppressant, and will not stop you feeling hungry. Instead, Orlos works by blocking the effect of the enzyme lipase, which usually helps the body absorb fat. By blocking this function, Orlos allows fat to pass through the body. This results in the absorption of fewer calories.
Important safety information when using Orlos for weight loss
Orlos should not be used by pregnant women, patients with food absorption or gallbladder problems, or patients who are allergic to orlistat or any of the ingredients in Orlos.
Before taking Orlos, patients must explain fully to their GP or pharmacist all the medicines they take and in what dosage. This applies also to any supplements, vitamins or herbal medicines a patient is taking. This is important because Orlos may interact with other medicines or supplements and cause side effects.
